I'm still living up here. And the money was [going down] with no savings because you get money every month. It comes in every month from people watching your videos, sharing your videos and that's not what was happening. When asked to share something she knows now that she wished she knew back then, GloZell said it's important to "pay attention," save, and know "where your money is going. Where did it all go?
I don't know. I don't know where the money went. As for her advice for young web creators, including YouTubers and TikTok stars, GloZell suggested they have a plan in place and surrounded themselves with people who will be there if they need help. It does not last," she explained. And then next year, it's a whole different group.
There's always somebody cuter, younger, prettier [and] funnier, coming up. Further, GloZell gained wide recognition when her blog about meeting Elijah Wood was mentioned. The actor himself mentioned it during a interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Then in , GloZell appeared in the web series Dr. It was for a YouTube live stream hosted at the White House. During this interview, GloZell talked about racial profiling and officer-involved shootings, relations with Cuba, and cybersecurity among others.
Then at the end of the interview, she handed Obama green lipstick to give to the first lady and their children. Further, she has also interviewed Hillary Clinton. She also won the Lifestyle award at the Streamy Awards. GloZell names comedian Jay Leno as deep inspiration from whom she learned a lot. Besides YouTube, GloZell has also performed standup acts in several comedy venues. In addition, she has also appeared in several shows. Further, GloZell released two singles in the year alone.
She is also a writer and has published books. One of them is an autobiography named Is You Okay? My community grew on social media because I don't exclude anybody from any walk of life. The videos that I create are seen throughout the world and are funny no matter what language you speak. Schawbel: What were some of your biggest challenges when you first started out and how did you overcome them? Green: My biggest challenges when I first started out were not having a computer or camera or Wi-Fi!
The computer and the camera had to be borrowed and there were times that I used the computer at the library, and I literally sat outside people's houses to steal their internet connections.
Shout out to all the unprotected Wi-Fi connections out there! I overcame not having a computer by dating someone who had one and using his all the time, and eventually I was able to afford my own.
Schawbel: You're clearly a leader in the social media age. How have you inspired and supported other comedians online? Green: I inspire and support other comedians by talking to them and developing relationships with many of them. I'm known as the Queen of YouTube and they're my children!
I'm always giving them advice even if they don't want to hear it and they respect me because I'm always straight up, honest, truthful and available if they ever need to talk.
I support them by attending their shows, sharing their videos and doing collabs. Follow your passion! As I say that I roll my eyes because everyone says it, but it's so true!
